Template Editing Instructions

Highlight:
 Hold down your left mouse button and run it across what you would like to copy.

If you would like to copy the whole thing you are looking at then you can press

 Select All
 Ctrl + a (at the same time)

This will highlight the whole item.

 Copy:
Highlight the area you would like to copy,
and then press

Ctrl + C (at the same time)

(For Mac users 'Apple' + C )

 Paste:
click your mouse where you want the
text pasted, and then press

 Ctrl + V (at the same time)

(For Mac users 'Apple' + S )

 
You may use any html text editor! You do not have to use Notepad.

or just adding the html into eBay's html box when you go to list your item(s)

Simply add your html of your template into their box and edit the template by looking to the
left of the template for the tags that we have placed. The list of tags are listed below.

PLEASE NOT MICROSOFT WORD IS NOT AN HTML EDITOR! Word will cause html errors.
 
Example On Editing With Notepad

Our templates are simple to edit. All you have to do is look for TAGS & Sample Text we have placed within the html. All our tags have been placed to the left of the template for easy finding. You may use edit find in your text editor. (We are using NOTEPAD for screen shots)
We recommend using NOTEPAD as your html - Text editor. It comes with all windows operating systems and is easy to use.

How to open notepad in windows: Start button - Programs - Accessories - Notepad or Start Button - Click Run - type: notepad

To Find text and html in a hurry in notepad all you do is: Open your notepad txt Template file (or paste your html into notepad ) at the top of notepad you will see : File - Edit - Format - View - Help
 

 

Under Edit you will see all the main important tools that you will need to use.

Find - Replace - select all - Copy - Paste
Find and replace makes it easy to find text and html that you need to find and replace.

Select all, Copy and Paste makes it easy to select all your txt and copy and paste it into eBay for use.

FOR EXAMPLE: To find the tag in the html for the terms you look for

 When you find the tag type what you want over the sample text

 DELETE THIS AND TYPE TERMS

 You do this for all the auction areas.

Type your Marquee Text over Don't forget to visit our other other items.
If you do not want to use the marquee scroll then all you have to do is take out the text - Don't forget to visit our other other items.

 And the Marquee will not show up.

 
Adding Images

Adding Images can be tricky and a pain so If you need any help let us know.

Upload all the images you would like to use to your image host and get the URLS.
Then open the template file.

 The tag for adding a Image is

Where you see our Image URL or Sample Photo:
http://www.freeauctiondesigns.com/sampleimage1.gif

 is where you need place the URL of your image file.
 
 

The html: <p align="center"> Is to center the image. If you would rather have your image to
the left or right you just type over the center text.

<p align="left"> or <p align="right">
 

Images have to have an image html tag & host to work correctly.

You can add as many images as you would like but below we have made some example Image tags for you up to five photos.
All u have to do is click in the box that you wish to use and copy and paste it into your html.

Font Style and Font Size

If you would like to change the color and fonts of the text all you need to is is look look for the term:

font-family
and you will see the font name there. You can change the font to what you would like.
You should keep in mind that if the person viewing the text does not have that font on their PC then they
will see their default font. You should use a font that comes with windows.

For A List Of Windows Default Fonts: microsoft fonts
For the font size look for the term : font-size
 

 Posting your listing on eBay

 
Using eBay To List

Edit the template html the way you want it set up.

Login to your eBay account at eBay.com

Located at the top of your eBay page you will see links.

Click On SELL

You will see List your item for sale
 REMINDER: You want to make sure Customize your listing with multiple selling
formats, designs, and more is clicked.

Click the Start selling Button

Pick the categories you are going to sell under and all the details.
When you get done with all that you will get to a page that says Create your listing

UNDER Create Your Listing
Place in your Title - subtitle and specifics

You will see Bring your item to life with pictures.

This is if you are using ebay image hosting only.
With custom templates it is not recommend that you do this because the image will not go in the photo box. It will go under your template.

You will see DESCRIBE the item you're selling

Instructions For Items Already Listed In Your eBay Store
